Bethany Information

Bethany, Oregon sits north of the Sunset Highway (Highway 26).

Because Bethany is a CDP and not a municipality, the community is served by Tualatin Valley Fire and Rescue, Beaverton School District, and Washington County Sheriff.

Bethany's population is roughly 20,646. According to Business Insider, Bethany has the highest household income in the state of Oregon, and nearby Cedar Mill is the runner-up.

One of Bethany's coolest things is that one is 1-2 minutes away from farmland and open areas, including Forest Park. Getting to Forest Park does not require driving on a highway. There is also a conveniently located park at Bethany Lake, stocked with trout for fishing.

Most of North Bethany is rural farmlands, although homes have been built since 2002 after the expansion of the Urban Growth Boundary into North Bethany.

Home prices in Bethany are higher than the Greater Portland average, and most sit in upscale suburban housing developments.

Houses in subdivisions south of NW West Union Road tend to be a little less expensive than those north of West Union Road. The address change depending on whether the property sits south or north of NW West Union Road. On the south side, the address is Beaverton, and Portland if located north of the road. However, both areas are still unincorporated in Washington County.

That said, million-dollar luxury homes are spread throughout Bethany, with the highest concentration in the district's northeast part. The North Bethany area also has a lot of new construction homes, and they tend to be more affordable compared to some new construction homes on the east Bethany south of NW Springville Road.

Will there be more developments in Bethany in the future? Yes. Most of the new subdivisions will be in North Bethany, as the area is not yet fully built out. According to Portland Metro, a meager percentage of the 5,000 planned homes have been approved and built so far.
