Bridgeton Neighborhood Info
Bridgeton is a thin strip of land along the Columbia River east of Kenton and north of East Columbia. The neighborhood is adjacent to I-5 north on its western border and runs along the river through NE Marine Dr and NE Bridgeton Rd. The community sits right across the river from Tomahawk Island, part of the Hayden Island neighborhood.
Bridgeton is unique; it is a small marine community where people live either on the water or near the water. There are many boathouses, historic homes, rowhouses, and condos.
Suffice it to say, folks who choose to live here typically enjoy boating, yachting, fishing, and other marine activities. It’s also a friendly enclave where passers-by know each other and wave when they pass.
Bridgeton is also very close to Portland International Airport (PDX), a real bonus for frequent flyers; travelers can board a plane within 15 minutes from leaving homes.
Bridgeton is right across the river from Downtown Vancouver. A Yellow MAX Line stop at the Portland Export Center makes commuting Downtown Portland and Northeast Portland a snap.
