Forest Park Neighborhood Info

Forest Park is a large neighborhood northwest of Downtown Portland. Much of the neighborhood is hilly with rolling pastures and forests. It is a beloved area where residents enjoy being outside and catching a glimpse of wildlife from time to time.

Home shoppers looking for a home in a more rural, quiet setting will appreciate Forest Park the most. The district population is approximately 4,237 and a landmass of 18.28 square miles, making it the least densely populated neighborhood in Portland, OR, even after taking into consideration the Forest Park itself, where no one lives.

The good news for commuters is that Forest Park is an easy commute to downtown and even closer to Silicon Forest in Beaverton and Hillsboro, making the neighborhood popular among Intel employees.

Forest Park, the park not the neighborhood, is the largest in the City of Portland, which exceeds 5,000 acres. Numerous trails cross the park, and one of the most popular hiking areas is the portion of the Leif Erikson trail that begins at the end of NW Thurman Street.

Forest Park is a place to strongly consider living if you’re a nature lover who also wants to live close to the amenities afforded by a big city. Home prices in Forest Park are higher than the Greater Portland average, but the district has some great perks and desirability, as outlined above.

Each property listing above includes details about the price, year built, size of the home and the lot (square feet), number of bedrooms, number of bathrooms, and other vital details. You’ll also be able to check the number of days it has been on the market (DOM), the MLS number, and the listing status (active, pending, or bumpable).

Review exterior features like swimming pools, yards, fences, and landscaping. Listings will also specify the architectural style of the house and if there are any views. Interior features like heating and cooling systems will be itemized. If any appliances or other personal property are included with the sale, those will also be noted.

When available, local information will be included along with Forest Park schools, nearby amenities, and a map.
