Foster-Powell is a Southeast Portland neighborhood that sits at the corner of SE Powell Blvd and SE Foster Rd with its eastern boundary bordering SE 82nd Ave. The neighborhood borders South Tabor to the north, Creston-Kenilworth to the west, Mt. Scott-Arleta to the south, and Lents to the east.
Foster-Powell, (aka FoPo) is a diverse neighborhood with many immigrants from Russian, Ukrainian, and Vietnam. Naturally, the area is fantastic for finding ethnic restaurants and specialty stores.
The Foster-Powell area was once a very affordable neighborhood in which to live. In recent years, when Portland's real estate has been hot, home shoppers flocked to this community, and home values here appreciated significantly.
What's more, a new vibrancy and "hip factor" moved in with Foster-Powell's new residents. Today, SE Foster Road is full of cool bars and restaurants. People congregate and meander the main thoroughfares enjoying their night out. Foster-Powell is a wonderfully diverse neighborhood with ongoing improvements and a bright future.
