Goose Hollow is a charming neighborhood right west of Downtown Portland that rests on the foothills of West Hills. It's a small residential neighborhood, only 279 acres. The population is approximately 4,796.

As one travels from the top of the district to the bottom, single-family homes give way to condominium buildings.

Goose Hollow is one of Portland's oldest neighborhoods. It earned its unique name because early residents let their geese run free in Tanner Creek Gulch and near the wooded ravine in the Tualatin Mountains known as the Tanner Creek Canyon. Tanner Creek Gulch once had a 50-foot-deep hollow with water in it that was diverted underground and filled in.

Goose Hollow is in the Downtown Portland basin, so it is just a quick hop to Nob Hill and the Pearl District. The MAX Light Rail stops twice in Goose Hollow at Providence Park, Kings Hill/SW Salmon, and Goose Hollow/SW Jefferson St stations.
