Hosford-Abernethy borders Buckman to the north, Richmond to the east, Brooklyn to the south, and the Willamette River to the west. It sits between SE Hawthorne Blvd and SE Powell Blvd from the Willamette River to SE 29th Ave.
The neighborhood is best-known for the Oregon Museum of Science & Industry (OMSI). Few people know this neighborhood by its name Hosford-Abernethy. Locals usually reference things within the district such as Clinton, OMSI, Hawthorne District, and the famous x-shaped block, Ladd's Addition.
Hosford-Abernethy is visually diverse; the vibe changes from block to block from quiet residential areas, bustling commercial centers, neighborhood shopping areas, or the Willamette River waterfront.
