Kenton Neighborhood Info

Kenton neighborhood borders the Columbia River and Hayden Island to the north, St. Johns and Portsmouth to the west, Arbor Lodge to the south and Bridgeton, East Columbia, and Piedmont to the east.

The district is home to some destinations popular with locals, including Portland International Raceway, the Paul Bunyan statue, Portland Expo Center, and Heron Lakes Golf Club. Kenton has a few parks south of the slough, Kenton Park and Trenton City Park. Delta Park West, which sits on the north side of the slough, features a popular bike path, Columbia Slough Trail. Technically, Moore Island City Park is also part of the neighborhood in the middle of Columbia Slough, but this is an inaccessible natural area unless you are traveling by boat.

Kenton neighborhood has evolved into something special. The neighborhood’s central business district pivots around the Paul Bunyan statue located in the corner of N Denver Ave and N Interstate Ave and is full of locally-owned businesses.

Residents here are friendly and involved in the community. A lot of artists live in the district.

Contemporary art gallery, Disjecta Art Center, occupies a 20,000-square-foot former bowling alley that contains artist studios and space fo exhibitions and performances.
