Lents Neighborhood Info

Portland's Lents neighborhood is located on the southwest tip of East Portland, bordering Powellhurst-Gilbert to the north, Pleasant Valley to the east, Foster-Powell, Mt. Scott-Arleta, and Bretwood-Darlington to the west and a Clackmas County neighborhood West Mt. Scott and Sunnyside, OR to the south. Lents is located directly south of SE Powell Blvd between SE 82nd Ave and SE 111th Ave all the way down to where the City of Portland's boundary meets Clackamas County. Lents neighborhood offers several parks including Lents Park, Bloomington Park, Ed Benedict Park (includes a skate park), Earl Boyles Park, Beggars Tick Wildlife Refuge, and PlayHaven Park.

Lents is an old and diverse neighborhood. It is home to many immigrants and working-class families and continues to transform a little each year. The City of Portland deemed the neighborhood an Urban Renewal Area, which attracts businesses and new home developments around Lents Town Center. It is an up-and-coming neighborhood that has a lot to offer including plenty of green space. Members of the community are actively involved in improving the neighborhood.

The location of Lents neighborhood is close Clackamas County, though it is somewhat far from Downtown Portland. The neighborhood's MAX stations help ease some of the commuting burden.
