Portsmouth borders St. Johns to the north, Kenton to the east and south, and University Park to the west.

The district is also a quick drive from Jantzen Beach for shopping. Portland International Raceway (PIR) and Heron Lakes Golf Club, also in the area, offer opposite ends of the spectrum for entertainment, one loud and one quiet.
