Richmond borders Sunnyside on the north, Mt. Tabor and South Tabor on the east, Creston-Kenilworth on the south, and Hosford-Abernethy on the west. Richmond is between SE 29th Ave to SE 52nd Ave from SE Hawthorne Blvd to SE Powell Blvd.
Richmond neighborhood's characteristics vary significantly by location. Businesses on Hawthorne Boulevard are trendy and give the district a funky feel. Powell Boulevard feels more akin to a suburb with strip malls and big-box stores. There is a lot of coolness going on around Division Street with a few newer Modern condos and a fantastic restaurant scene. Then there are the residential areas like Clinton Street where home shoppers can find gorgeous older homes on tree-lined streets.
Home prices in Richmond are higher than other Southeast Portland neighborhoods due to the area's desirability. Typical residential architectural styles here include Craftsman, Bungalow, Cottage, and English Tudor.
